Background & Objectives: Today, justice is one of the main priorities of policy makers, and equitable distribution of health is one of their concerns. The concept of justice is a health policy objective. International human rights framework put particular emphasis on moving towards equity in health through attention to the social determinants of health. In this study, in order to recognition more available models in the field of social determinants of health seven common determinants of health frameworks are presented.

Method: This is comparative study. The research environment includes all models of social determinants of health in the world, from them seven models were selected by targeted search. Criteria of selection was Justice, evidence-based decision-making, strategic and comprehensive approach, the importance of family in health. Models were studied in details.

Results: In this study, seven models were identified include First nations holistic policy and planning model, A conceptual framework for the planning of a healthy community, toward health equity: a framework for action, World Health Organization commission on Social Determinants of Health — conceptual framework, a framework for action on tackling Social Determinants of Health inequities, A framework for addressing the Social Determinants of Health and wellbeing, Wider Determinants of Health Model, The Mandala of  Health were examined about level, type, basis and scope of models.

Conclusion: there are wide variety of models around the world in order to demonstrate determinant of health factors, that each of these models have their advantages and disadvantages. Wider Determinants of Health Model is the most used model in Iran. This research can help policy makers and researchers in selecting of models for analyzing social determinants of health according to the dominant discourse.
